Barbering and cosmetology have been extremely rewarding to me and it basically saved my life.

When I was 5 or 6, my brother offered me a yellow drink and told me it was lemonade or maybe orange juice but it was warm, he insisted that it was juice. So, like a good brother, I trusted him and down the hatch it went, only to spit it out as soon as it hit my tongue. Yes it was piss, it’s funny now but I still owe him one for that.

I got into cutting hair when I was in my late 30s, I originally went to school for fashion design but strayed off and went to a dark place for a part of my life. A dear friend of mine suggested that I become a hairstylist and boy was she right. Cosmetology gave me a new perspective and a positive distraction that I put all my energy into. I graduated from the San Diego City College Cosmetology program but needing more, I went through Carlton Academy and later went back to school to get my Barber’s License. I started my career in San Francisco and I’ve been fortunate to work in Maryland, D.C., Virginia, and once a year I work at an event called Viva Las Vegas for Shiner Gold Pomade in Las Vegas.

We take pride in our work and we want everyone to try our style and feel welcome, we invite you to come sit in one of our chairs, enjoy conversation, leave with a story and a smile and of course get a most excellent haircut.
